*Just* a virus!?

I took Charlie into the ER the other day because I thought she had pneumonia. She was coughing up lots of really thick stuff and had a really high temp (I think she peaked at close to 104). She was also very irritable and not tolerating her feeds well, which is expected. But we got in there and they did all the usual....x-ray, labs, urine. All of it came back fine. Even her lung x-ray was FINE! Her lungs haven't looked good, like ever. I wonder if it has to do with the salivary gland ablation we did last summer. So they determined it to be viral and sent us home. After another 24 hours of pure hell for Miss Charlie, she's almost back to her regular self. We are being super diligent with suctioning, breathing treatments, and chest percussions so that it DOESN'T settle in her chest (right about now is when it would "turn into" pneumonia).

I've never seen Charlie so sick unless it was full-blown pneumonia, but she did great.

We went to our favorite restaurant on New Year's Day. It is a small, family-owned place with mostly American food, but also some Korean food. They were doing karaoke and the owner got up and sang Rudolph in half English and half Korean, which was really cool. They did door prizes and every kid got something. Adrian got a whole gingerbread house kit. They are just awesome people.

And here's Charlie after she finally started to feel a little bit better.

Aw, poor kiddo! I'm glad she's feeling better.

Sounds like a fun New Year's!
